Firstly I must apologize for not publishing a post on Friday like I normally would! I was busy with other things in the morning, and then Jared came home for lunch and ended up staying instead of going back to work, so I forgot until Saturday when I suddenly realized, oh no, I forgot to blog!

Last week Jared and I finished the fifth season of the show Arrow. It’s about a vigilante- kinda like a superhero, except without superpowers. Just pure skill. We have really enjoyed watching it, especially as time went on and the story progressed more and more and we realized how everything was connected. There is a sixth season but it’s not on Netflix yet, so until then we’ve been trying to find something else to watch.

We started watching the show The 100. In a post-apocalyptic world, all the remaining humans live on a space station, far from the radiation soaked earth. 100 juvenile prisoners are sent to earth, to see if it is survivable. Not only is it survivable, they’re not the only ones there. It’s based on a series of books by Kass Morgan, which I haven’t read. So far we are enjoying the show, but it’s pretty gory in some parts, and scary, and I’m a bit of a scaredy-cat, so I’m not sure if we’ll keep watching. If we quit watching it, I’m definitely going to see if the library has the books, because it’s so interesting! And I don’t think I’ll be as scared of books, because I’m a very visual person and so it’s easy for me to remember what I’ve seen; so when I’m trying to sleep, scary images from the tv show/movie/whatever scary thing I’ve seen, will pop into my head.

We’ve also been watching Zumbo’s Just Desserts, which is a dessert making competition show. It’s always interesting and exciting, and also a nice light-hearted show to watch if you’re trying to distract  yourself from the gory tv show you just watched an episode of… ahem… like me last night.

Back to Arrow; there are a few other shows based on DC Comics, like the Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow, but unfortunately our Netflix doesn’t have them. There are several superhero shows, like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and movies like Spiderman, Batman, etc. but we started a few and we’re not really that into them yet.

Jared loves watching the rugby, and during the Olympics and the Commonwealth Games, we enjoyed watching some of the competitions together. I also like HGTV, especially shows like House Hunters, Love It or List It, and Fixer Upper.
